A Beginner’s Guide to Using Facebook Ads

With more than 1 billion users, Facebook is the perfect way for a business to reach their target audience en masse, but it can be difficult to reach this audience, especially when you’re new to Facebook and don’t have a great number of likes on your business page. This is where Facebook ads come in. This useful guide will give you a few tips on getting started with Facebook ads.

To access the advertisements menu on Facebook, click on the small dropdown arrow in the top right corner of your screen and click on “Create adverts.” You can run Facebook ads to promote your business page in a number of ways; adverts can be used to get more likes on your page, to encourage more people to click through to your website, to get more engagement on a specific post, and much more. Which you choose will depend on your goals; if you want to reach a wider audience then it’s good to try and get more likes, or if you’ve got an offer running then you might want to boost a post which advertises this.

Once you choose the kind of advert to suit what you want to achieve on Facebook, there are a number of different ways you can customise your ad. First, you must choose the audience that you want your advert aimed at. It is recommended to be as specific as you can with who you want to target so that the right people see your promotion. Narrow down your audience based on location, age, gender, language, interests, behaviours on Facebook and who they are connected to on Facebook or what pages they like.

Setting your budget is the next important part of the setting up the best Facebook ads campaign. You can set how much you’d like to spend per day or over the lifetime of the advertisement, so that when you reach your budget limit, the advertisement ends. You can also set how long you would like the advert to run for.

Then you need to design how the advert is going to look. Enter a catchy headline that lets people know what it’s about, and a slightly longer message to give further details and encourage people to click. You can also add an image here, which is advisable as photos attract more engagement on Facebook.

You are now ready to run your Facebook advertisement and start growing your reach online.
